I know that Subaru has three options for Impreza owners. Do you opt for the donut, the under-sized donut, or do you not get a donut at all? What's the pros and cons of each option? Help me as I'm about to get my 2025 Impreza this coming week.

Get the regular donut, not the undersized one. The undersized donut is pointless, it's barely any better than no spare at all. If you're worried about space or weight, deal with it and carry the full sized spare. Trust me, you don't want to be stuck without it.

Subaru's spare tire options kind of come down to trade offs, the full size spare is rare now, most trims either come with a compact donut or, in some cases, just a tire repair kit and no spare at all. Anyway, you have the choice but I'd say go with the standard donut, it's the most practical balance of weight, space, and actual usefulness

Can someone explain what's the difference between a donut and an undersized donut? Like the donut is ridiculously thin and the undersized one is a bicycle tire?

Anyway, avoid the repair kit, just for the piece of mind. The kit may repair a small puncture or something like that, but it needs to be on the tread area, not too close to the sidewall and a long list of conditions. For example it does nothing for a blowout. Any kind of spare tire is better than any kit on the market, even one that promises to regenerate the tire.
