Thinking of upsizing tires on my 2022 Impreza

I drive a 2022 Impreza Premium, and I'm shopping for new tires soon. I know 215/55R16s fit the factory wheels without trouble, but I'm considering moving up to 225/55R16 for a bit more ground clearance. I've scraped underneath a few times already, has anyone tried this size on stock wheels?

Yeah it fit the rims but it'll increase the overall diameter by about half an inch. Your speedometer might read a bit low and you may notice tighter clearance in the wheel wells under full turn or compression. It's been done before without major issue though, so you're likely fine if you're not lowered.

That's exactly what I needed to hear, I appreciate the heads-up about clearance and the speedo, it sounds like a fair tradeoff for the extra height. I'll probably give it a shot

Yeah, 225/55R16 will fit your stock wheels just fine, make sure there's no rubbing at full lock or with a loaded car, but on Impreza that size usually clears without issue anyway
